A cedar cabin for one: 35 x 28 x 65 inches, Pacific clear cedar with a tempered glass door, and 4 carbon heating panels. Dynamic lists a comfort range of 118°F to 132°F and a maximum of 140°F, plus Bluetooth, a speaker, color lighting and a 5-year limited warranty. The panels clasp together, so assembly needs no tools.
2. Albott 1 Person: smallest
If space is tight, the Albott takes about 6 square feet at 27.2 x 31.8 x 60.2 inches. It’s built from Finnish spruce, with 4 carbon panels, a heated foot area, a roof vent and a tempered glass door. At 107 lb, Albott says one person can set it up in about 20 minutes with basic tools, and it runs on 110V. At about 60 inches tall it’s the shortest cabin here, so check your seated height.
3. Homsido 1 Person: easy controls
The Homsido is a Canadian Hemlock cabin, 32 x 34 x 67 inches, with 5 heating panels totaling 1200 watts on 110V. Its listing highlights an LCD panel where you preset the time and temperature, a pre-warm of about 10 minutes, Bluetooth speakers and an LED reading light. It ships in two packages and assembles with tongue-and-groove panels. Homsido lists 1 year of after-sales support.
4. JNH Lifestyles Joyous+ 1-2 Person: most heat
JNH’s smallest current sauna is sold for one or two people, at 39 x 36 x 73 inches outside, with about 36 x 32 inches of floor inside. Its listing gives 8 carbon heaters, up to 170°F (the hottest here), red light therapy, Bluetooth and Canadian Hemlock. The Real Relax is the roomiest one-person cabin here at 47.2 x 35.4 x 74.8 inches, and the listing says it fits adults up to 6 feet 8 inches. It has 6 carbon panels, upper and lower, reaching an ideal 130°F in 15 to 25 minutes per the listing, an EMF figure of under 2 mG, 9 lighting colors, a backrest, a cup holder and Bluetooth, in solid Canadian Hemlock.
How to choose a 1 person infrared sauna
- Your height: cabins range from 60 to 75 inches tall. If you’re over 6 feet, look at the inside height or the listing’s height limit, like the Real Relax’s 6 feet 8 inches.
- Floor space: the Albott takes about 27 x 32 inches; the JNH Joyous+ 1-2 Person needs 39 x 36. Leave a few inches around it for air and the plug.
- Power: the one-person cabins here run on a standard 110V to 120V outlet. Check the listing for the amp rating, and avoid extension cords.
- Wood: cedar has a strong scent and costs more; hemlock and spruce are pale and close to odorless.
- Heat: most infrared cabins run between 120°F and 140°F. If you like it hotter, the JNH Joyous+ reaches 170°F.
1 person cabin, tent or blanket?
A wooden cabin is the most sauna-like and lasts for years, but it needs a permanent spot. If you can’t spare the floor, a portable infrared sauna tent folds away after each session, and an infrared sauna blanket fits in a drawer.
