An infrared sauna blanket is a zip-up sleeping-bag-style wrap with carbon heating elements inside. You lie in it on a bed, sofa or mat, with your head out, and it heats you the way a small infrared sauna would, without needing a room for one. Below are four blankets that are on Amazon now, what each one offers per its listing, and how to choose between them.
Our quick picks
- Best overall: Lifepro RejuvaWrap. 9 heat levels from 95°F to 176°F, a 5 to 60 minute timer and auto shut-off.
- Premium pick: HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket. 9 temperature levels, a crystal-lined inner layer and a handheld controller.
- Extra large: Comfytemp S1. 35 x 78 inches, separate front and back zones, and app or handheld control.

The best infrared sauna blankets on Amazon
1. Lifepro RejuvaWrap: best overall
The RejuvaWrap covers the most ground for the price. Per its listing it’s 71 x 36 inches, has 9 heat levels from 95°F to 176°F, a timer you can set from 5 to 60 minutes and an automatic shut-off. Lifepro says it takes 5 to 10 minutes to warm up and 10 to 15 minutes to reach full temperature. It comes with a cotton towel, 5 disposable thermal wraps, the controller and a carry bag, and the outside wipes clean with a damp cloth.
2. HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket: premium pick
HigherDOSE is the most expensive of the four. Its listing describes 9 temperature levels, a low-EMF design, an inner layer lined with amethyst, tourmaline, charcoal and clay, a handheld controller and an industrial-grade zipper. It doesn’t list the blanket’s dimensions or its temperature range, so check the product page before you buy if you’re tall.
3. Elitzia 3-Zone: separate control for each zone
The Elitzia has three heating zones that you set separately with the remote, so you can run your legs warmer than your chest, for example. Per its listing it measures 70.9 x 31.5 inches, has an automatic overheat shut-off and a thermostat, an Oxford fabric outer and a waterproof PU inner layer that wipes clean. Elitzia also sells a cheaper dual-zone version in the same size.
4. Comfytemp S1: extra large
At 35 x 78 inches the Comfytemp is the biggest blanket here, a good fit if you’re tall or broad. It has separate front and back heating zones (set both before you start, the listing says), a 5-layer build with a shoulder flap to hold heat in, and a choice of a handheld controller with a large display or a phone app.
How to choose an infrared sauna blanket

- Size: most blankets here are about 71 inches long. If you’re over about 6 feet, look for a longer one like the Comfytemp at 78 inches, or check that your head and shoulders can stay out comfortably.
- Heat control: a single setting is fine for most people. Two or three zones let you keep your chest cooler than your legs, which some people find more comfortable.
- Safety features: look for an automatic shut-off and a timer. The Lifepro lists both and the Elitzia lists an overheat shut-off. HigherDOSE and Comfytemp don’t mention either on their listings, so check the manual.
- Cleaning: you’ll sweat a lot. A wipe-clean inner layer and a towel or liner between you and the blanket make it much easier to keep clean.
- Low EMF: many listings say “low EMF” without giving a figure. Treat it as the seller’s claim unless they publish a measurement.
Sauna blanket or portable sauna?
A blanket packs away into a drawer and heats you lying down. A portable infrared sauna is a small tent you sit in with your head out, which leaves your arms free to read or use a phone, but it needs floor space while it’s set up. If you’d rather sit upright, or share a sauna with someone, look at a tent or a home infrared sauna instead.
Using a sauna blanket safely
Start on a low setting for a short session and build up, drink water before and after, and get out if you feel dizzy or unwell. Don’t fall asleep inside it. If you’re pregnant, have a heart condition or take medication that affects how you handle heat, ask your doctor first. Our guide to using a sauna safely covers this in more detail.
Sauna blanket insert towels
An insert towel lines the blanket, so sweat goes into the towel instead of the blanket’s inner surface, and the towel goes in the washing machine afterward. Both of these are 70 x 30 inches, which their listings say fits most sauna blankets. The JZHLLA is coral fleece; the Juexica is cotton waffle.
Frequently asked questions
What is an infrared sauna blanket?
A zip-up wrap with carbon heating elements inside. You lie in it with your head out, and it heats your body the way a small infrared sauna would, without needing a room for one.
How hot does an infrared sauna blanket get?
It depends on the model. The Lifepro RejuvaWrap lists 9 levels from 95°F to 176°F. Blankets heat up gradually: Lifepro says 10 to 15 minutes to reach full temperature.
Is a sauna blanket the same as a heated blanket?
No. A heated blanket is a cover that keeps you warm in bed. A sauna blanket closes around your body and runs much hotter, so you sweat, and it’s meant for sessions with a timer rather than overnight use.
How long should a sauna blanket session be?
Follow the manual for your blanket. Most let you set a timer, and the Lifepro’s runs from 5 to 60 minutes. Start short and on a low setting, and build up as you get used to the heat.
How do you clean an infrared sauna blanket?
Most can’t go in a washing machine. Wipe the inside with a damp cloth after each session, and use a towel or disposable liner between you and the blanket. The Lifepro comes with a towel and 5 disposable wraps.
