A home sauna costs anywhere from a couple of hundred dollars to several thousand, and most people only ever buy one. We write every review so you can see exactly where our verdict comes from.
What we review
Infrared saunas, steam saunas, outdoor and barrel saunas, and portable saunas, from one-person units up to models for four or more people. We cover what people actually shop for, from under $500 to $2,000 and above.
Where our information comes from
- The manufacturer. Heater type and number, wattage, power requirements, wood species, dimensions and warranty terms, as the maker publishes them.
- The product listing. What comes in the box, what the listing says about assembly, and the safety certification the maker lists, such as ETL.
- Verified owners. We read through buyer reviews looking for patterns, not single complaints. Things like how long assembly really took, how fast it heats up, what failed after a few months, and how customer support handled it.
What we don’t do
We don’t run a test lab, and a review never says a sauna was tested hands-on unless it was. Where a review mentions a star rating, it’s the rating when we wrote it. Ratings change every day, and the current one is a click away on Amazon. We don’t accept payment for reviews or rankings.
How we pick a “best”
There’s no single best sauna. A two-person cedar cabin for a spare room and a folding tent for a small apartment solve different problems. Each pick says who it suits, who it doesn’t, the pros and cons, and anything to check before you order, like whether your home has the right outlet.
How the site is funded
SaunaReviewer.com is reader-supported. When you buy through one of our links, we may earn a commission from Amazon and other affiliate programs, at no extra cost to you. That’s how the site pays for itself. It doesn’t decide which sauna we recommend.
Keeping reviews current
Prices, stock and models change. Our product links open the retailer’s page, so the price you see there is the current one. If a model is discontinued, we update or replace the review. If you spot something out of date, tell us through the Contact page and we’ll check it.
